Mobility making all the right moves!

Delicious Digg StumbleUpon Reddit Subscribe to RSS Feed

It is the era of mobility with laptops, smartphones and tablets ruling the IT industry. Not only the IT industry but almost the entire business world.

Almost each and everything is done on mobile tools from works related tasks to home based needs. So in a way you carry your office everywhere, it has its pros and cons but workaholics would definitely opt for the prior option.

Virtual offices have made things easy for sure, the smartphone in this case is playing a very important role, and it is taking over the place of an office switchboard, backup connectivity but also a fallback computer.

Who needs a computer when you have a smartphone at disposal? It has all the essential features and is not even quarter the size of a desktop.

The communication device is also your smartphone where sending and receiving mails, phone calls, text messaging and also as a social media access tool. The smartphone is not for making calls anymore, maybe we could say making calls is just one of the simplest advantages of a phone out of many advanced features.

Laptops on the other hand are becoming smart each day, easy to carry, thin and light have made them more popular amongst enterprisers and other users. Earlier there were 2 problems which laptops faced of being very heavy and secondly poor battery backup. But as technology has advanced these problems have been overcome and a laptop can be carried everywhere very easily without worrying about the battery life of the laptop to a very large extent.

Internet connectivity is becoming less of a problem in India, especially in urban cities where almost all offices, homes and entertainment junctions have a wi-fi connection. Therefore the utility of mobile tools has now increased like never before.

For smartphones the mobile hotspot facility works like magic, giving it a place above laptops when connectivity comes to question.

But tablets seem to be the biggest rage amongst firms; it has come as a device between laptops and smartphones with features and apps which can revolutionize current industry practices. And frims which had sidelined smartphones, are now looking at the tablet as a very viable option, hoping to not repeat its mistake again.

But the technological boom has blurred some very important lines between work and personal spheres. It is not a very good if we look at it the human way. It is important to see things in that perspective as letting technology rule lives does ultimately lead to a personal debacle.
