Before notification center came along in iOS 5, Android
had a bit of an advantage in terms of usability, mainly due to the
availability of widgets. However, now, using the Notification Center
provided by iOS, users
can do a lot through that part of the platform, especially if you have a
jailbroken device. We have covered a number of Notification Center
widgets in the past, like our post on the best available NC widgets for iOS 5, and today, we bring you another useful addition to the arsenal of available tweaks dedicated to Notification Center. NCInstaCall is a Cydia tweak that allows jailbreak users to make phone calls right from within the notification center.
NCInstaCall is a free tweak, which can be downloaded from the Big Boss repo over at the Cydia store. Once you have done that, don’t try looking for any changes in your iPhone’s notification center. Even though the tweak does not have an app icon displayed on the Springboard, there is a dedicated menu for it in the Notification Center’s settings. So, after installation of NCInstaCall, you have to manually enable it. This can be done as follows.
