Facebook and Skype have inked a deal which will bring the video chatting service to the social networking site.
Facebook's video chat will show up on the site as a "call" button at the top of users' profile pages. By clicking on it, Facebook users can talk to each other provided they have webcams.
The move comes in response to Google+. Last wee, Google introduced its social networking service called Google+. The new service is expected to rave reviews for its amazing +Hangouts feature that allows video chat for multi-users.
Facebook's new video feature does not allow for group chats. However, union with Skype will definitely give Facebook an edge and many interesting features will be introduced later on, such as group calling or paid features like calling to landlines.
Let’s see who will lead the race- Facebook with its Skype-powered video chat or Google+ with its +Hangouts feature.
